Birthday party!

we had a joint b-day party for two of the WV staff. pretty fun. the b-day girls are the ones in the door frame in case you were wondering. we all sat centered around a cloth on the floor that held our food and just enjoyed each other's company. good times.

So...we ate marmot one evening. it was fun...plenty pictures of us having fun while waiting for it to finish. so, this is how it happened. it was beheaded and then scalding red-hot rocks were inserted into it and it was cooked from the inside out as we shut its neck with a wire. the hair from the little creature was then torched off. and there you have it!

Ondorkhaan mountain

went to the mountain one day. had lunch at the foot of the mountain with a family that was generous enough to let us eat their beef jerky+noodles soup and ride their horses. it was glorious up there. the land is so vast. the sky, so blue. wow.
